W&J Volleyball Falls At Home To Grove City

WASHINGTON, Pa. -- The Washington & Jefferson College volleyball team was defeated by Grove City 3-1 (13-25, 22-25, 25-19, 21-25) in a Presidents' Athletic Conference match on Tuesday night at the Henry Memorial Center.

Three Presidents recorded a double-figure kill total led by junior Samantha Chorney's (Greensburg, Pa./Greensburg Central Catholic) 13. Classmate Tori Clark (Fall Branch, Tenn./Sullivan South) added 12 kills, while sophomore Lindsey Bennett (Pittsburgh, Pa./Brentwood) contributed 11.

Defensively, Bennett tallied six blocks, while Chorney and freshman Nicole Bishwaty (Allentown, Pa./Parkland) both collected two. Freshman Courtney Grdina (Stow, Ohio/Walsh Jesuit) paced the Presidents with 13 digs and sophomore Sarah Stedina (Darlington, Pa./Blackhawk) added nine.

W&J (9-10, 3-9) looks to rebound on Thursday when it visits New Wilmington, Pa., for a conference match with Westminster (7:00 pm).
