W&J Volleyball Splits Two Matches in New York

ALFRED, N.Y. -- Sophomore Tori Clark’s (Fall Branch, Tenn./Sullivan South) 12 kills, 11 digs and two blocks helped the Washington and Jefferson volleyball team defeat Hilbert 3-1 (25-11, 25-16, 22-25, 25-11) on Saturday afternoon.

W&J (3-6) dropped its second match of the day to host Alfred, 3-0 (25-22, 25-23, 25-23).

Senior Tessa Slifka (Latrobe, Pa./Derry Area) tallied 10 digs, eight assists, three blocks and three service aces, while classmate Alyssa Vukson (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Allegheny) added seven digs and four service aces.

Sophomore Madison Rotto (Freeport, Pa./Freeport) paced the Presidents with 25 assists as they improved to 2-0 all-time versus Hilbert.

Clark led W&J with 18 kills and nine digs in its match with Alfred.  Rotto notched 28 assists along with seven digs, while freshman Lindsey Bennett (Pittsburgh, Pa./Brentwood) added five kills and four blocks.

The Presidents will take a short trip from Alfred to Buffalo, N.Y. on Sunday to face D’Youville at 11:00 am.
