W&J Water Polo Falls To Mercyhurst
ERIE, Pa. – Division II Mercyhurst defeated CWPA Division III's 10th-ranked Washington & Jefferson College men’s water polo team 17-8 on Saturday afternoon in Erie, Pa.
Sophomore Mike Magdic (Franklin Park, Pa./North Allegheny) paced the Presidents’ offense with four goals.
Sophomores Justin Brier (Timonium, Md./Calvert Hall), Connor Crowe (King of Prussia, Pa./Upper Merion) and Carl Krause (Ambler, Pa./Wissahickon) along with freshman Mickey Wieber (Collegeville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley) all added one goal each.
Sophomore Chris DeNunzio (Greenwich, Conn./Canterbury) made six saves and junior Dan Francisco (Chicago, Ill./Fenwick) stopped four shots while splitting time in goal for the Presidents.
W&J (4-5) is back in action later on Saturday at Penn State-Behrend beginning at 7:30 pm.
