Women's Water Polo Drops Three At Grove City

GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Washington & Jefferson College women's water polo team is still searching for its first victory of 2013 after suffering three setbacks on Saturday at Grove City College.  The Presidents lost to the host Wolverines (12-6), Division I VMI (13-8) and Division II Gannon (15-6). 

In the Grove City match, junior Margot Wummer (Havertown, Pa./Germantown Academy) and freshman Rachel Clauss (South Pasadena, Calif./South Pasadena) both netted two goals, while junior Catherine Villa (Poway, Calif./Poway) and freshman Allison Rocha (New Lenox, Ill./Lincoln Way West) added one each.  Senior goal McKenzie Graf (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley) had two saves. 

Villa and Rocha both contributed one goal in the loss to the Keydets, while Clauss, Wummer, sophomore Sara Boldt (Grand Haven, Mich./East Kentwood) and freshman Gabriele Rodriguez (Burbank, Calif/Burbank) all scored once. 

Graf racked up 10 saves against Gannon and Clauss netted a pair of goals.  Rocha, Villa, Wummer and juniors Randi Cartwright (Holt, Mich./Holt) and Dana Wieber (Collegeville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley) all finished with one goal. 

W&J (0-6) hosts its only three home matches of the spring next weekend starting with an 8:00 pm match versus Notre Dame (Ohio) Friday night.
