Women's Water Polo Falls In 2013 Opener To Michigan

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- Thirteen different Wolverines scored as Michigan cruised past Washington & Jefferson 20-1 in women's water polo action Saturday night at the Indiana Fluid Four Tournament.

The Presidents (0-1) were held off the scoreboard until the fourth quarter when junior Margot Wummer (Havertown, Pa./Germantown Academy) ended the Wolverines' shutout bid.

Sophomore Charlotte Lima (Brooklyn, N.Y./Choate Rosemary Hall) collected five saves in goal, while senior McKenzie Graf posted four.

Earlier in the day, the Presidents played an exhibition match against a club team from Canada, Dollard, and lost 24-4.

W&J faces two more tough opponents on Sunday when facing the host Hoosiers and 10th-ranked Long Beach State.
