Woodward Finishes First At CMU Diving Invitational
PITTSBURGH, Pa. -- Senior Abbey Woodward (Beaver, Pa./Beaver) finished in first place on the 1-meter board to lead the Washington & Jefferson College diving team at the Carnegie Mellon University Diving Invitational.
Woodward's 375.85 points on her 11 dives paced the nine-woman field. She also finished second on the 3-meter board with a score of 366.65, just under five points behind the winner, Olivia Defazio of CMU.
On the men’s side, senior Justin Weifenbach (Coraopolis, Pa./Montour) recorded a score of 424.25 on his 1-meter dives and finished in second place. Weifenbach finished third on the 3-meter platform (375.55).
The W&J divers will be back in action at the Grove City Winter Invitational on December 2.
