Magellan Project Description:
I spent four weeks interning for Face2Face Theatre Company, an English as a second language theatre production company, based in Madrid, Spain. I was able to tour with the actors and actresses for their shows in Madrid; assist with stage set up; sit in on script writing sessions and take notes for the company owners; attend the Madrid auditions for next season's company of actors; stage manage the company's version of "Robin Hood"; and work as a director for Face2Face’s summer theatre camp for spanish children. The Magellan Project also gave me the ability to travel to Dublin, Ireland, where I studied at the Gaiety School of Acting, Ireland’s National Theatre school, where I completed a four week intensive acting program focusing on Irish theatre.
How will your Magellan Project help with your plans after graduation?
I plan to attend graduate school to attain my Master in Fine Arts (MFA) in dramatic criticism and dramaturgy, after which time I would like to audition for Face2Face Theatre Company and tour as a performer in Spain. I also hope to teach theatre at the college level and to be active in the professional theatre as both an actor and a playwright.
