The Pre-Health Portfolio Workshop/Chat is scheduled for Monday, November 23rd, 7-745 p.m., in the "Living Room" area outside of the Career Services Office (near the mailroom). Roberta Cross, from the Career Services Office, along with three senior pre-health students that have applied to health professions schools this year will bring along examples of their portfolios and will answer questions and provide advice about putting together a high quality portfolio. We held this more "informal" meeting last year, and we've heard from students that it was very successful. Although this meeting is intended primarily for juniors and seniors applying to schools this coming summer (and thus are in the process of putting together their portfolio), any pre-health student is welcome to come and listen in to the conversation about creating a portfolio.

Dr. DeBerry will present information on: how to use the Biologically-related Internships webpage to find research internship opportunities; tips for applying to internship programs; and sources of funding for internships (including W&J's HHMI, Merck, and Linton funds). A panel of current students will describe their internship experiences during Summer 2009 and answer questions.

Born in the U.S., Silver received his B.A. degree from Cornell University and completed his M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in Modern Jewish History at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.  His lecture, “Bias and Belief: Can there be objectivity about the Middle East?” will be held in the Media Room.  Refreshments will be served.  Sponsored by Hillel and FYS, with assistance from the ICC.
