Alpha Phi Omega  is a national co-ed fraternity dedicated to providing service to the campus and to the community. Alpha Phi Omega was founded on the principles of leadership, friendship, and service. The W&J chapter is under the provisions set forth in the chapter bylaws and national constitution of the Alpha Phi Omega National Fraternity. Big Brothers Big Sisters of W&J supports the healthy and functional growth of children in Washington by providing aid in the areas of academics, social life, and character development. Volunteers are mentors to local children in the Washington Park School District.Volunteers spend one-to-one time with a little helping with homework, playing sports, doing arts and crafts, and enjoying other activities together. Get Involved in Volunteer Experience or G.I.V.E. is provides opportunities for students to get involved in volunteer experiences on a local, regional, and national scale. GIVE members help educate the W&J community on the importance of community service and other forms of volunteerism, and connect students and student groups with non-profit agencies and community organizations. Lions Club is the world's largest volunteer organization with over 1.4 million members in over 203 countries. W&J's chapter was charted in April 2009, and strives to better both the campus and community through various activities that we organize. President’s Prep Tutor Program is a student-run club founded in 2011 by an AmeriCorps grant as an additional volunteer support system for the Washington School District. The club aims to increase student academic achievement by giving struggling students that one-on-one attention they so greatly need. To do this, members act as extra aides in math and English classrooms and/or provide homework help at the volunteer-run after school program. Presidents Without Borders is a student-led medical mission group. W&J students spend the academic year fundraising and planning for an annual summer medical mission trip.  For more information, e-mail presidentswithoutborders@gmail.com.  You can also check out their blog or facebook!

Ubelong is a social venture based in D.C. that provides international volunteer opportunities in a variety of locally organized projects in several countries throughout South America, Asia, and Africa. Volunteers work on a wide range of projects in environmental reserves, hospitals, NGOs, and schools. The Ubelong W&J chapter partners with Ubelong to coordinate service trips in these project areas during spring break. The club’s first trip in 2013 will be a conservation service trip in the Amazon Rain Forest in Ecuador. Up 'til Dawn is a student-led, student-run philanthropic program in which college students nationwide raise funds for and awareness of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. The program engages participants in fundraising and awareness activities that culminate with an all night finale event to celebrate their success at which students stay "Up 'til Dawn." Staying "Up 'til Dawn" is a challenge and a way for students to set aside a night in honor of the patients and families of St. Jude.
