Institutional Research and Assessment

The Office of Assessment and Institutional Research at Washington & Jefferson College is responsible for:

  • Leading the College to prepare for required accreditation activities
  • Creating and implementing a comprehensive college-wide assessment strategy and plan
  • Training faculty and staff on assessment procedures and processes
  • Calculating, tabulating, and submitting timely and accurate submissions of institutional data to IPEDS, PA state agencies, and other agencies as requested
  • Calculating data as needed for the President, Senior Staff, and Board of Trustees, and providing research analysis as needed
  • Maintaining official College statistical records in the Washington & Jefferson College factbook
  • Analyzing data from internal College surveys as well as national-level survey assessment instruments such as the Student Satisfaction Survey, NSSE, FSSE, BCSSE, and HEDS surveys
  • Overseeing the electronic course evaluation system and course evaluations for all faculty
  • Coordinating all external reviews for academic departments as necessary
  • Managing the College survey policy and calendar
