On November 2nd, 6pm, the English Department will host visiting writer, David Eye, for a poetry reading in the media room. Eye is the author of two books of poetry, _Seed_ (which won the Hilary Tham Capital prize) and _Rain Leaping Up When a Cab Goes Past_. His work appears widely in national journals and magazines and has been honored with such distinctions as a Walter E. Dakin Fellowship from the Sewanee Writers’ Conference and the Hudson Valley Writers’ Guild Non-Fiction Prize for Humor. Eye currently teaches creative writing at Ohio Wesleyan University and serves as a mentor in AWP’s Writer to Writer program. In addition to all of that, he is one of the very few poet/professors who have served in the United States Army and performed in the Broadway tour of _Cats_.
