Hannah Parrett & Britny Wainwright

Start Date, Time: Oct 28, 2022 12:00 am
End Date, Time: Nov 20, 2022 11:59 pm
Category: ,

This two-person exhibition explores relationships between ceramics, fiber, and painting. Through the overlap of two artists’ languages in repetition and pattern, familiar objects of domestic life are re-assessed in a public space. Painted curtains camouflage and reveal false interiors, ceramic vessels are framed by textile cushions, where together they create the possibility of a private space. This show uses quilted images and materials to explore different methods of meaning making through the piecing together of fragments. The structure of the quilt is a starting point in both artists’ work in identifying its power as an object of memory and an object that can function as a storytelling device.
