The Office of Diversity & Leadership Initiatives is committed to strengthening cultural awareness and diversity education for the students. We offer a variety of programs and support services to deeply engage and explore topics such as race, gender, sexual orientation, socio-economic status, political views and religion. Programing for our area includes: monthly cultural heritage month celebratory events (in conjunction with multicultural student organizations), diversity/social justice focused workshops and trainings, monthly Point of View diversity discussion series, leadership development opportunities, annual Multicultural Senior Celebration for graduating seniors, and ongoing support services for the Charles West Scholars and YES Prep student programs.
In addition, we are strategically partnered to support the efforts of several of our campus’ multicultural student organizations, including: Black Student Union, Asian Culture Association, Latino Culture Association, Indian Student Association, Gay/Straight Alliance, and Hillel. We are always looking for new and creative opportunities to engage the campus community as we strive to complement the College’s mission of scholarship, community service, and global citizenship. We hope that you will consider being an active participant in the events and activities sponsored by our office!
