Building Your Course Schedule
The Registrar's Office will contact you about getting you paired with an advisor. Your advisor will then work with you to build a course schedule. We recommend completing your course placements before meeting with your advisor, so that they can better fit you with courses. If you have any questions or have not yet been paired with an advisor, please contact us.
To complete a Bachelor of Arts degree at Washington & Jefferson College, you will need to complete 32 semester courses and 4 credits of Physical Education. PE courses do not count toward the 32 semester courses. Your advisor can explain the requirements in further detail. For more information, see the College Catalog.

AP Score Reports include scores for all the AP Exams you have taken, unless you have requested that scores be withheld. A minimum score of 4 is necessary for any consideration of credit or placement to be given. If approved by the appropriate academic departmental chairperson and vice president for academic affairs, credit and/or advanced placement toward graduation will be awarded.
International Baccalaureate (IB) Credit
The official International Baccalaureate transcript is required to award credit. Course credit will be granted for each higher level (HL) IB course with an exam score of 5 or higher. A department chair, program director or academic dean will determine whether a course counts as an elective or toward a specific requirement (major, minor or general education). Students who completed the entire IB Diploma Programme can earn credit for up to 8 courses toward graduation at W&J. To request an official IB transcript, contact the International Baccalaureate Organization.
Credit for Courses Taken at Other Colleges
If wish to receive credit from transfer courses at W&J, you will need to request an official transcript from the institution and have it sent to the address listed above. If you earned a grade of C- or better you may be eligible to receive credit at W&J, subject to existing regulations covering such courses.
