    Anoosua Mukherjee, Ph.D.

    Assistant Professor of Music

    Degrees: Ph.D., New York University; B.A., College of the Holy Cross

    Anoosua Mukherjee is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Music at Washington and Jefferson College. She received her Ph.D. in Musicology from New York University in 2015. Her research is focused on twentieth-century American music and cross-disciplinary projects connecting art history to music. Anoosua teaches musicology and ethnomusicology courses that survey both classical music history and global music traditions. She also teaches topical courses of her own design addressing the social politics of music. Anoosua is a classically trained violinist and performs regularly in the classroom and for the W&J community at large.
