Vice President of Student Life & Dean of Students
Eva Chatterjee-Sutton is the Vice President of Student Life and Dean of Students. Dean Eva came to W&J in 2013, bringing more than 20 years of experience in student affairs and higher education. In working with colleagues to support students in their development, experience on campus and student success, Dean Eva oversees the Division of Student Life. The division is home to professional staff within the offices of Residence Life, Student Engagement, Student Health & Counseling, Athletics, Campus & Public Safety, Career Pathways, Community Standards and W&J Dining. Dean Eva also chairs the W&J CARE Team. Her office is located on the Upper Level of Rossin Campus Center.
Dean Eva previously held several positions in the Office of Residence Life at the University of Maryland – Baltimore County (UMBC), and at Bennington College, where she was first the Associate Director of Student Life and later was Dean of Students. At W&J, as in her past roles, she is committed to creating a holistic and robust student experience. She leads a division of more than 90 dedicated staff members who are deeply committed to the mission of W&J. In addition, Dean Eva serves as a board member of the Legal Issue in Higher Education Conference; the facilitator of the NCAA ADR (Athletic Direct Report) Institute, and the NASPA James E. Scott Academy Board.
She holds a bachelor of applied science degree in sociology and political science from Kansas State University and a master of arts degree from the University of Iowa College of Education in College Student Counseling and Personnel Services/Organizational Development and Change.
