Areas of Study

James Benze is a professor in the Department of Political Science. He teaches a variety of courses ranging from the American presidency to women politics and also participates in the Gender and Women Studies Program and Environmental Studies Program. Dr. Benze is currently the Social Sciences Director. His current research interests revolve around first ladies and he has recently completed a biography of Nancy Reagan, which will be published by Kansas University Press.
