The Jazz Conspiracy Brings Spirit of Swing Era to Olin

WASHINGTON, PA (March 4, 2016) - The Jazz Conspiracy brings the spirit of the Swing Era to Olin Fine Arts Center on March 8 in the next installment of the W&J Arts Series.

The show begins at 7:30 p.m. in Olin Theatre. Tickets are required and can be reserved by contacting Olin Box Office at 724-223-OLIN (6546). Tickets are $12 for regular admission, $10 for seniors, W&J alumni, and non-W&J students, and $7 for children age 12 and younger.

The Jazz Conspiracy (TJC) Big Band is an authentic 16-piece big band performing jazz and swing music with a focus on dance tempos. TJC Big Band and TJC Swingtet (the 8-piece “little Big Band”) have performed concerts and dance shows throughout the Pittsburgh area, including the James Street Gastropub & Speakeasy on the North Side, Jergel’s Rhythm Grill in Warrendale, and Phipps Conservatory in Oakland. The band also has performed at Penn State University Beaver, and Mt. Lebanon High School as well as private functions, weddings, dances and Pittsburgh-area concert series.

The TJC ensembles feature some of Pittsburgh's finest instrumentalists who frequent such other local groups as Pittsburgh Opera, The Pittsburgh Jazz Orchestra, and The Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra. Many of the ensemble members also teach instrumental music at colleges and universities in the Pittsburgh and tri-state area, or run music programs at area high schools.
